Harpella forficella

(Scopoli, 1763)28.023

The first UK record of this moth was from Berkshire in 2011, when Nick Percival found it in his garden. Since then there have been a few additional records scattered in Sussex, Leicestershire and Gloucestershire.

Its larvae feed on decaying wood and under bark, and it is likely that it has been imported into the country with timber supplies.
