Fairly widespread in the region, in various habitats wherever its foodplants grow. C. betulicola and C. elongella can be similar, but are larger. Z. hepariella has similar wing markings, but rests with its head pointing down, rather than the head-up posture of the Caloptilia species. Recorded in 41 (53%) of 78 10k Squares.
